good times, in a rougher blowing wind.there where friends, like juan and diana. the teachers of the new spanish school in santiago de compostella, and in valladolid in the heart of the kastilia. it was surprising, how many people still try to learn, in the hardly effecting mediterranian financial pressure. how the days could not be long and intense enough for them, who could come. the two teachers took good care for me, in many ways... helped to get the materials together, the same as much the family of my old friend xavier fom valladolid, with his son in law oscar and his wife maria, opening their garden for greens and materials of many kind. the sorrow, to not make it suitable enough for this countries florists, who face a situation, that everything in this market can only cost the half. "la mitar... " thats the word for the half. I am more than impressed, that the spanish collegues still cultivate their profession in between themselves..... not related purely on the businesses. which means, that the creative process is not interrupted in a rougher blowing wind. I hope some of them reed this, that they know, how much I appreciated their engagement. the flowers where just homeproduction of spain, no rare beauties of the world most important auctions. it works also in a little more pollied way.... or not??? gre]]>

we did a church...not just a church.. it was. is. the most beautyful 1000 year old building st genies de morgues in the longuedoc southern france... beginning in the romanique period boing through the gothic phase, and also getting touched in the barock age. all in the most unique stonecolor of the mediteanean coastarea. not painted ans overload, just a quiet piece of architectural harmony, different in forms and shapes, but with a mutual getting as a unit, the colors and texturs of the building. gilles didier from remoulin, did all the finetuning of the translation, but my french would be not good enough for all that, what I want and need to say. he is a coteacher inj many classes in the country, and manfred hastenrath from our hometown in germany, my brother in law, did all the technical prep with the welding and woodn structures, and much more, with me. it was a class of the floriform, the educational wing of the french floristassociation, coorganized by the chambre syndical de longeguedoc in montepellier. the french system is very helpful for all the ones, who want and do really come back to educational courses during the whole carriere and not only for the innicial beginning of the professional way. and this is oviously happening there, and much more like in most other countries. the project was full 3 days. with a longer tecnical preparation as usual... welding. building bases for grapevines and also made out of olive wood. i thought, that the teamwork was very intense... longer days all together til 8plus minus in the evening. jaques pastor, the leader of the floriform and madame carol from the chamberoffice organised very well all products needed, and looked with the members of the viilage community warm and hospitable after all of us.thankyou... madame bernadette, madame denis, the friendly and competent mayor of the city, see just the moments of flowers, 120 meters of olivegarlands roundbound and the nice people of all the south. please love the french, they deserve it. gre]]>

illinoishere is now the time to speak more about others, about an extraord. well done event in the middle of the state illinois. franky peltiere as the teamhead and rae roberts griffith, barbara carter and michell oneill -babicky, judy borah, ronda hess, laronda lambert, and garret, fairbanks, sheryl timmermann, becky huffdmann, ami steiner, maria buskirk, dan ludwig, mark miller, john windisch sandra prince, tina davis many more at the spot... (please forgive me, when I forgot the one or the other, which is not for po. ), organized a well done programm over the three days : illinois state association "wonderland. "in the harder times after the peaks of the crisi in the us, there are specially the ones, who slowed down over last few years, to see something going under, that there is something "big " in this profession to believe in. new, just starting very young boardmembers, working with the very expierienced ones, working in the event ; scholarshipcontests, statescompetitions, decoration of the whole steup, organizing perfectly done classes with bob freese, keath white, john husak and myself and more events in between, the presidential main -party with the honorpresentation to the ones, who showed achievements in the association or throughout of the whole country. it was warm for the professional souls, to see that such a modern and dynamic country holds the professional values up and high. the workshop for inov. bridalbouquets I did, was well visited, and I expected with all my "fiddelings", that some of the coll. would walk out of the room at 7 in the ev. wrong : I faced a workmanship and craftquality, which really was not depending to just fix flowers in something.... no... creating all armatures and structures, including them like invisible in the floral substance. I brought the kiogywood from japan for each student.... every bouqut was different and the first people walked out of the class at 4 as it was ment from the organizers. the level of people was very even... level... it was as I say somtimes, like an army in the "same step and pace" frankly to say : thankyou and a big compliment for the result of the whole event see some pictures of the work and some people. special thanks to my helpers, stacy, barbara and carol and tammy. the big hug for my friend rae roberts-griffith, who found me years ago in the symp. in seattle and brought me for the first time to springfield ill. gre]]>

werkformen : forms of work... the class... puhhhhh... its done and this thanks the heaven, the three days before valentinsday. what a terrible stupid thing I did, planning the class for such a floristryunfriendly date... but it worked out, it could successfully go through. but what do I tel you first ? the interesting group of people, which participated? the still rich variety of flowers, which provided our friend and partner from holland daan? our that still many florists where there, to rush last minute home to go into the valentins presence... ?expierienced people from the flowerarrangers side. it was one of this classes, I dont forget so quick of the good communication, we had in this seminar: form of work with major fresh structural designing... not wire and wood in the foreground. not thinking only of the lasting forever: a green little world... the last day was very little one. as one picture shows. but this time I want to put up the name of my very important collegue and often present partner in the classes: elke lumetsberger. many people meet her here til now and she also knows alot of the mostly back coming people her. she goes now to moscow for class... worked as a austrian floristmaster in several countries and continents. at home in austria is very involved in the educational board, to help the forewards coming of the profession there. her collegue erwina from chateau roux in france did all the extra technical insights. a young, very involved person in the class. people said, that not only the lecture and demonstration was in important: no, it was very much erwinas tecnical step by step - presentation.]]>

found an old gravyard in munich - old northern cementaryit was on a grey day... oh... what a grey one. actually a good day, but the german weather again... if you think, you know why germans are like they are.... I believe it is the weather. its the constant unexpected grey and miserable, when it should not be like that. my son martin brought us to the cementary... we have that together in common.. loving graveyards... you remember last year the blog about a cementary in france with the enormously large cuttet taxustrees there? wonderful... love it, when very modest plants look like watching the people in the ground... when evy is playing arround stones... its a harmony in itself. loved the dark cloudy heaven than, see the pictures... no no.. not floristry to see, only here on our blogpage. want to share all, what I like... the sketching, the "adoration plant"architecture.... yes, and much more. but thats enough for today. the cementary was full of history, even about our darkest times, what we created in the middle of the last century. sometimes good to stop for a moment, knowing again, that we are not enderless. (and surely not wonderful at all... )..... a lesson for modesty.]]>
