This year we´ll look at the opposite of last year´s theme 'contrast': On search for harmony!
To work with contrasts can be powerful - for sure, but is it not also true to bring different things together on the search for harmony? Another aspect is the thinking process about the aims of this intensive seminar. Work planning, designing with material we would never have thought about. Always with a strong focus on techniques as well as design-rule-suitability. It is a course of creative paths in floristry and flower design in the middle of the old Gregor Lersch nursery in modern classrooms. The morning sessions will be filled with lecture-demonstrations. In the afternoon there will be time for rolling up sleeves and putting hands on. Gregor Lersch and his team will be present all day: Demonstrating together, helping with all the details. Hospitality lasts all days, lunch included in flowering surroundings. There will be a different focus every day, and the 5 stories come together in the end.
1st day:
Introduction of the theme in general, lecture-demonstration
Harmonies in table centerpieces, table decorations: colours, forms- and materials.
2nd day:
Working with geometrical form- or pattern-harmony
Lecture, demonstration and presentation of some pieces
3rd day:
In all kinds of weather: A day out in a lovely surrounding between the edge of the forest and vineyards.
Working with materials from the surroundings but on a prepared basis: Harmony in focus with larger pieces. Depending on the size: Teamwork possible. No land art, its still floristry – floral design. Please bring a raincoat, but usually the weather will fine.
4th day:
The harmony in materials and plant material
Different kinds of pieces possible. Freedom in material choice out of a large number of possibilities. Have a pleasant day and enjoy the solutions of people from 15 countries and cultures all over the world.
5th day:
Harmonies in form and shape.
Relationship - vases - containers; self made containers and forms, shapes and patterns.
The concept "5 days - 5 stories" is an educational floral training for a great variety of florists, floral designers, experienced arrangers and teachers from as many different countries and cultures as possible. Learning on long days, intense and hard work is in contrast to a light holiday feeling in a garden green atmosphere. The space, where it happens is inspiring and invites to meeting each other, working in a network and sharing the passion for the profession and its culture. The days will fly by in great harmony with ease and also substance. It is nice not to be responsible for catering, and to come home replenished with new ideas and motivation.
